Network Instruments Observer lets you packet capture and decode with real-time statistics, trending, and more for shared and switched environments.  Ideal for small companies needing simple network analysis.

Observer Expert is Observer with Expert analysis to provide immediate solutions on network problems. Includes VoIP Analysis, NetFlow, Application Analysis, and the means to isolate transaction issues.  Ideal for medium-to-large enterprises desiring rapid troubleshooting capability and application-specific data.

Observer Suite is Expert Observer with built-in SNMP and Reporting for web reporting capability and device management. Also connects to the Observer Reporting Server.  Ideal for large companies with large-scale reporting and SNMP device management needs.

Observer Reporting Server provides access to in-depth network analysis, allowing you to make informed decisions to manage critical network operations.

Software Probes are installed on a remote LAN, wireless network, segment or switch to collect data, report back to the Observer console.

Software-Based Probes are available in four versions: Advanced Single Probes, Advanced Multi-Probes, Advanced Expert Probes and RMON Probes.

Hardware Probes can also be delivered as a hardware system with no additional components to buy. Gigabit Probes combine high performance gigabit analysis with the very best price/performance ratio in the industry.

nTaps are passive, full-duplex monitoring devices, offering complete visibility into the network regardless of traffic levels. nTAPs work with the leading security and network management tools so you can quickly and easily deploy them into the network.

Copper nTaps 10/100 Copper Copies Fast Ethernet traffic from a full-duplex copper link for a copper monitoring device connects to the full-duplex link under test and an analyzer equipped with a dual-receive capture card.

Aggregator nTaps Copies gigabit traffic from full-duplex copper links for a copper monitoring devices, Auto-negotiates to also support 10 Mb and Fast Ethernet networks and Connects to the full-duplex link under test and an analyzer equipped with a dual-receive capture card.

Optical Fiber nTaps Copies traffic from full-duplex optical links for optical monitoring devices, Connects to the full-duplex link under test and an analyzer equipped with a dual-receive capture card, and is available in both gigabit and 10 gigabit configurations.

Conversion nTaps Transfers network traffic from full-duplex copper links to copper or optical analysis or security devices. Aggregator nTAPs provide greater protection than a SPAN port against packet loss on low-utilization networks. Choose from a 256 MB or 512 MB buffer. To connect to an optical device, the nTAP will need SFP modules (sold separately).
