Exporting Observer Statistics to CSV

Observer allows you to save live statistical modes such as Top Talkers, IP Pairs, or any trending views as a Common Delimited File. This is a way for you to pull data from Observer for sharing or feeding into a database program.

Tech Tip: Exporting Observer Statistics to CSV

  • Be sure the statistical mode you are viewing, such as Protocol Distribution or Top Talkers, displays a list view of the statistics.
  • Click on File from the main menu, select Save and then Save Data in Comma Delimited Format. You can then name and save the file to your hard drive.
  • Open the file in Excel or your default spreadsheet program by going to the location where the file was saved and double-clicking it; it will be saved as a .CSV file. You can also share the information with management or export it to a database.
